Our process is quite comprehensive:
- We will carry out a survey of your site and discuss your ideas, offering advice on the style and size options that will suit your requirements. We will also advise as to whether your building will need planning permission and/or building regulation approval.
- Following the survey we will produce a set of drawings of your garage building based on our discussions.
- After you have had time to study the drawings we will arrange a further meeting when we can discuss the specifications and costs.
Oak Frame Building Site Survey
At Great Oak we have worked with oak buildings for many years so we understand their quality, strengths and benefits. During this meeting we will carry out a survey of your site, and discuss your ideas, offering advice on the style and sizes that will suit your requirements. We will also advise as to whether your garage will require planning permission and/or building regulation approval. Should you decide to place your order with Great Oak, we will prepare the drawings and submit to your local planning authority on your behalf.
Oak Frame Building Planning & Design Services
After the initial site survey our design team will produce your individual and unique design drawings, together with a detailed specification and quotation for the work required. We will also be able to advise you as to whether your garage/building will require planning permission or not.
Once you have agreed to proceed with the project, our in house Computer Aided Design team will produce the necessary drawings, site plans and forms, and submit them to your local authority for their consideration if you need this service.
Once your planning application has been approved or should you not require planning permission, our CAD technicians will produce the necessary building drawings for both the base works and the garage/building construction. The drawings then have to be approved by an independent structural engineer prior to manufacturing. Whilst the Oak frame is in production we will complete the building control details for their approval.
We will of course, keep you informed as to the progress of your building project at all stages, and copies of all drawings and detailing will be forwarded to you throughout the process.
Oak Frame Building Construction & Completion
You will be assigned a project manager who will work closely with you throughout the development to make sure you are happy with everything before construction begins, that everything runs smoothly during construction, and that the completed development is everything you imagined.
We personally construct the project for you, or should you wish we will work with your own groundworks contractors. Our skilled carpenters will follow on with the timber frame and our project management ensures you have consistent contact throughout the entire project.
Whether you choose to use our complete turnkey package, or for us to work with your own groundworks contractor, our level of service will be second to none.
We take great care to ensure that your finished building is just how you imagined it. When we have finished the construction we will remove any left-over materials to leave your property clean and tidy, so all that's left for you to do is furnish the interior! Of course, we are always on hand if you have any queries further down the line.
